Railroad Roots. Country Living.
Magnolia sits in southwest Montgomery County, about 40 miles northwest of downtown Houston, where small-town charm meets fast-growing new communities. From older homes near the 1902 depot to new construction in master-planned neighborhoods and homes on acreage, Rainy Day Roofing, Siding, & Windows delivers storm-ready protection built for Texas weather.
From Mink’s Prairie To Magnolia
Settlers knew the area as Mink’s Prairie in the 1840s. When the International-Great Northern Railroad built its line through in 1902, the town moved to the tracks and was named Melton, but postal mix-ups led residents to rename it Magnolia in 1903 for the magnolia trees along Mill Creek.
Magnolia Today
Magnolia incorporated in 1968 and counted 2,359 residents inside city limits in 2020, while the wider Magnolia area has grown quickly with new master-planned communities. The historic depot still stands, and Union Pacific named Magnolia a Train Town USA in 2013.

Magnolia Home Improvement FAQs
Answers to common questions from homeowners considering roofing, siding, or window work in Magnolia.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Magnolia?
It depends on where your home sits. Homes inside Magnolia city limits follow the city’s requirements, while many homes with a Magnolia address are outside the city and fall under Montgomery County and their HOA. We confirm what applies to your address before work begins.
Does my Magnolia HOA need to approve my new roof?
In master-planned communities like Audubon, usually yes. HOAs typically review shingle style and color before work starts, and we provide the product details and samples they ask for.
How do Magnolia’s trees affect my roof?
Pines and hardwoods shade many Magnolia roofs, which keeps moisture on the shingles longer and drops needles and leaves into valleys and gutters. Overhanging limbs can also puncture a roof in high winds.
If a storm comes through, we can inspect your roof, document any damage with photos, and help you decide whether an insurance claim makes sense.
How much is a roof in Magnolia?
Magnolia homes range from older one-story homes near the townsite to large new two-story homes and custom homes on acreage, and roof size, pitch, and material all affect the price.
Our instant roof estimate gives you a price for your specific home in seconds, and an in-person inspection confirms every detail before you commit.
Do you work on shops, barns, and outbuildings?
Yes. Many Magnolia properties have detached garages, shops, or barns, and we can inspect and repair or replace those roofs along with your home.
Which Magnolia areas do you serve?
We serve homeowners throughout Magnolia, including the historic townsite, Audubon, Mostyn Manor, and the acreage along FM 1488 and FM 1774, plus nearby Tomball, Montgomery, Pinehurst, and The Woodlands.
