Show Me City Roots. Suburban Growth.
Missouri City sits just southwest of Houston, mostly in Fort Bend County with a small slice in Harris County, and has grown into one of the region’s most established family suburbs. From 1970s-era homes in Quail Valley to new construction across Sienna, Rainy Day Roofing, Siding, & Windows delivers storm-ready protection built for Texas weather.
From Land Venture To Missouri City
Missouri City traces its roots to 1890, when Houston realtors R.M. Cash and L.E. Luckel began promoting land along the railroad southwest of Houston to settlers from Missouri and Illinois. A few years later, fellow promoter W.R. McElroy bought nearby acreage and named the town Missouri City to appeal to buyers in St. Louis, and the town was officially registered with the state in 1894. Its community schools, founded in 1895, later became part of Fort Bend ISD.
Missouri City Today
Missouri City had only about 600 residents when it incorporated in 1956. Quail Valley, the city’s first master-planned community, arrived in the late 1960s and kicked off a wave of growth through Lake Olympia, Hunters Glen, and Vicksburg and on to Sienna and Riverstone. Today the “Show Me City” is home to more than 74,000 residents.

Missouri City Home Improvement FAQs
Answers to common questions from homeowners considering roofing, siding, or window work in Missouri City.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Missouri City?
Yes. The City of Missouri City lists roof and reroof work on its residential building permit fee schedule, so a full replacement inside city limits needs a permit. We confirm the requirements for your address before work begins.
My Quail Valley home is from the 1970s. What should I expect from a new roof?
Many Quail Valley homes are on their second or third roof, and older decking can hide soft spots or water damage. We inspect the decking during tear-off and walk you through any replacement it needs before we install your new roof.
How often does hail hit Missouri City?
Hail is most common in spring, and storms that build over Fort Bend County can drop hail from Sienna to Quail Valley in a single afternoon.
If a storm comes through, we can inspect your roof, document any damage with photos, and help you decide whether an insurance claim makes sense.
How much is a roof in Missouri City?
Missouri City homes range from compact Quail Valley ranches to large two-story Sienna homes, and roof size, pitch, and material all affect the price.
A shingle roof will likely vary between $10,000-$25,000.
What siding holds up best in Missouri City?
Hardie fiber-cement siding is a strong choice for Missouri City because it resists rot, moisture, and pests, which matters in Fort Bend County’s humid climate and near the area’s lakes and bayous.
Do you serve Sienna, Riverstone, and Lake Olympia?
Yes. We serve homeowners throughout Missouri City, including Sienna, Riverstone, Lake Olympia, Hunters Glen, Vicksburg, and Quail Valley, as well as nearby Sugar Land and Stafford.
