Railroad Roots. Oil Town Grit.
Tomball is a city of about 12,000 residents in northwest Harris County, roughly 28 miles from downtown Houston along Highway 249, and the Tomball name reaches well beyond city limits. From older homes near the historic depot to newer neighborhoods and homes on acreage, Rainy Day Roofing, Siding, & Windows delivers storm-ready protection built for Texas weather.
From Peck To Tomball
The Trinity and Brazos Valley Railroad built a stop here in 1907, and the town platted around the depot was first called Peck. On December 2, 1907, it was renamed for Thomas Henry Ball, the attorney and former congressman who brought the railroad through and is known as the Father of the Port of Houston.
Tomball Today
Humble Oil struck oil southwest of town on May 27, 1933, earning Tomball the nickname Oiltown USA, and the city incorporated that same year. The 2020 census counted 12,341 residents, and the historic downtown and depot still anchor the community.

Tomball Home Improvement FAQs
Answers to common questions from homeowners considering roofing, siding, or window work in Tomball.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Tomball?
It depends on where your home sits. Homes inside Tomball city limits generally need a building permit, while many homes with a Tomball address are in unincorporated Harris or Montgomery County. We confirm what applies to your address before work begins.
Does my Tomball HOA need to approve my new roof?
In many Tomball subdivisions, yes. HOAs and deed restrictions typically review shingle style and color before work starts, and we provide the product details and samples they ask for.
How often does hail hit Tomball?
Hail is most common in spring, when storms build over open country northwest of Houston and roll through Tomball quickly. Tropical systems like Hurricane Beryl in 2024 add wind and falling limbs.
If a storm comes through, we can inspect your roof, document any damage with photos, and help you decide whether an insurance claim makes sense.
How much is a roof in Tomball?
Tomball homes range from older one-story homes near downtown to large two-story homes and custom homes on acreage, and roof size, pitch, and material all affect the price.
Our instant roof estimate gives you a price for your specific home in seconds, and an in-person inspection confirms every detail before you commit.
Do you work on shops, barns, and outbuildings?
Yes. Many Tomball properties have detached garages, shops, or barns, and we can inspect and repair or replace those roofs along with your home.
Which Tomball areas do you serve?
We serve homeowners throughout Tomball, including Old Town, Northpointe, Rosehill, and the acreage along Highway 249 and FM 2920, plus nearby Magnolia, Spring, Cypress, and Klein.
